Ziro, Oct 26:
The Ziro Press Club (ZPC) observed the 6th death anniversary of Late Taro Chatung, the pioneer journalist and filmmaker of Arunachal Pradesh, widely regarded as the father of Electronic media in Arunachal Pradesh.
The observance began by Chairman of Ziro Press Club Mr. Tailyang Pugang at the ZPC Office and was followed by a tribute at his memorial site (burial ground) at Keilya, Hija village . Members of the press fraternity paid homage to Late Chatung by observing a moment of silence and recalling his immense contributions to journalism and society.

Late Taro Chatung was best known for his influential Doordarshan program “News and Views” and for his instrumental role in establishing the Arunachal Press Club (APC) and the Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ).
He passed away on October 26, 2019, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, dedication, and innovation in the field of media. The Ziro Press Club fondly remembered his lifelong commitment to truth and his invaluable service to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
