ItanagarGrand Farewell to Shri N. Tam (IFS) First Apatani Officer to Attain PCCF Rank Felicitated in Itanagar

Itanagar, 29 April 2029:

Shri Ngilyang Tam, IFS, was accorded a warm and dignified farewell on his retirement from the Indian Forest Service, in recognition of his long, distinguished, and exemplary contribution to forestry, environmental conservation, and public service.

The farewell programme was organised by the Apatani Forest Officers’ Farewell and Felicitation Committee at Donyi Polo International Hotel on the evening of 29 April 2029.

Shri N. Tam holds a place of immense pride in the Apatani community as the first officer to rise to the prestigious rank of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF). His remarkable journey is seen as a milestone for both the forest department and the community, inspiring aspiring officers and future generations.

The event was attended by retired and serving forest officers, colleagues, well-wishers, and members of the forest fraternity, who gathered to celebrate his dedicated service and significant contributions.

The evening featured heartfelt speeches and tributes highlighting his professionalism, humility, leadership, and unwavering commitment to duty. Speakers acknowledged his vital role in strengthening forest conservation efforts in Arunachal Pradesh and beyond.

Retired officers Hibu Dole, IFS, and Dusu Siira, IFS, fondly recalled his contributions and described his career as a matter of pride for the department and community. Senior officers Millo Tasser, IFS, and Tilling Taker, DFO, also paid tribute to his mentorship and guidance, noting his lasting influence on generations of forest personnel.

As part of the felicitation, Shri N. Tam was honoured with traditional tokens of respect, mementoes, and words of appreciation for his outstanding service.

In his address, Shri N. Tam expressed gratitude to his colleagues, seniors, and well-wishers for their support throughout his career. He encouraged younger officers to uphold integrity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility in serving both forests and society.

The programme concluded on a note of gratitude and admiration, with everyone extending their best wishes for his healthy, peaceful, and fulfilling post-retirement life.
