Ziro, August 13, 2025 – The Ziro Press Club (ZPC) marked its 1st Foundation Day on August 13, 2025, at the ZPC premises. The event was graced by Tai Arun, Trade Development Officer cum DIPRO In-charge of Lower Subansiri, as the special invitee. Also present were Hage Penji, President of ZPC; Tage Laling, General Secretary of ZPC; Tage Tajung, Joint Secretary of APUWJ, Lower Subansiri; Kime Anto, IPR Secretary; along with field reporters and camera persons of ZPC.
In his address, Tai Arun assured that he would extend all possible assistance to ZPC in the future and work in every possible way to serve society in collaboration with the club. The presidential address by Hage Penji highlighted the significant achievement of ZPC becoming the first district press club in Arunachal Pradesh to be affiliated with the Arunachal Press Club. He expressed gratitude to APC President Dodum Yangfo, General Secretary Damien Lepcha, APUWJ President Amar Sangno, and General Secretary Sonam Jelly for their support in this milestone. He further assured that ZPC members would continue to uphold the club’s integrity and its motto of being “the mouthpiece of the weak.”
In his welcome speech, General Secretary Tage Laling recounted the formation of ZPC, stating that its primary objective was to unite young journalists under one roof and provide them with safeguards. He affirmed that the club would continue to stand by every journalist doing good work and extend support in overcoming challenges faced in the line of duty.
