14-01-2025, Itanagar: The All Tutsa Welfare Society has demanded the retraction of false allegations against Arunachal Legislative Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte. The Society strongly condemned the baseless claims made by the Arunachal Pradesh ST Bachao Abhiyan, which falsely asserted that Pongte is a non-tribal. They clarified that Pongte is a legitimate member of the Tutsa community from Changlang district, and the son of Khodong and Likkom Pongte, both respected community members. These unfounded allegations, made without proper evidence or verification, have caused unnecessary harm and disappointment.
In discussions with local units of the Arunachal Pradesh ST Bachao Abhiyan, the allegations were denied, reinforcing their false nature. The All Tutsa Welfare Society has called on the central unit of the ST Bachao Abhiyan to thoroughly investigate the issue and withdraw the false accusations. If the matter is not resolved amicably, the Society has stated its intent to pursue legal action for defamation, urging all parties to act with integrity and responsibility.
