ST Bachao Andolan, Lower Subansiri unit emphasized its commitment to protecting the rights of genuine ST members

The ST Bachao Andolan Committee, Lower Subansiri District Unit, held a press briefing to address the issue of individuals voluntarily surrendering their Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. The committee emphasized its commitment to protecting the rights of genuine ST members and ensuring a transparent process.

Non-APST individuals holding ST certificates have been given a deadline to surrender their certificates by 12th January 2024. Failing to do so will result in the issuance of a name list by the central authorities.

The committee also urged individuals with information regarding ST status concerns or those willing to surrender their ST certificates to come forward. For inquiries or to surrender an ST certificate, individuals can contact Millo Ambo, Chairman of the ST Bachao Andolan Lower Subansiri Unit, at 8415873231.

The committee called for public cooperation to maintain fairness, accountability, and integrity in safeguarding the rights of genuine ST members.
