Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh – Medhavi Skill University, under the leadership of Chancellor Pravesh Dudani, an IIT alumnus, successfully organized its first Rural Convocation in Ziro. This event marked the graduation of the first batch of students trained as Executive Electricians and Executive Plumbers. The convocation, hosted in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Skill Development Centre, Ziro, brought together principals, headmasters, NGO representatives, ZPMs, and Head GBs, all of whom came to support and promote skill-based education in the region.

As part of its efforts to expand skill training programs, the university announced the launch of a Hair Cutting and Drying Lab, which will provide training in hairstyling and grooming, creating new career opportunities in the beauty industry. Additionally, Medhavi Skill University pledged its support for the Rehabilitation Centre (SSB) and Mother’s Home, which provides shelter and care for destitute women and children, including those with physical and mental disabilities. In collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Skill Development Centre, the university assured assistance in addressing water and electricity issues at Mother’s Home, ensuring better facilities for its residents.

Looking toward the future, Chancellor Pravesh Dudani shared plans to introduce a training program for heavy vehicle drivers, expected to be completed within 8-12 months, aiming to create employment opportunities in the transport sector. Furthermore, the university has committed to setting up a Skill Hub and Cultural Centre within 6-8 months. This center will not only provide vocational training but also play a role in preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the region.
In addition to its local initiatives, Medhavi Skill University is working towards creating opportunities for students to pursue careers abroad. The university has a dedicated wing focused on overseas placements, and if successful in expanding its efforts, it aims to facilitate opportunities for students from Arunachal Pradesh and Ziro to work in countries like Germany.

During the event, the General Secretary of AWAZ (Apatani Women Association Ziro) delivered a compelling speech on gender inclusivity, emphasizing the need for more women to enroll in skill training programs, including courses in plumbing and electrical work.
The event was a significant step in advancing vocational education and skill development in the region, reinforcing Medhavi Skill University’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering economic growth through specialized training programs.
