Making sports a feasible career option

Date:

A good career for their children is amongst the most important goals for all parents. Who does not want their children to do well and have a good life? However, in Arunachal Pradesh, the largest employer is the government sector. If we look around, almost all departments are overcrowded. Of course, there is a need for good administrators, engineers, doctors, etc., but the percentage of such job openings can hardly accommodate the rising population of the state. With a large young population, the job market in the public sector seems meagre.

Sports in India are in a stage that is about to reach a boom period. The next decade will witness a manifold rise in the demand for professional athletes. Football is a global game and amongst the most revered. Children who are interested in football can create a feasible career in the future. With this in mind, the recent workshop organised by the Lower Subansiri District Football Association (LSDFA) is a well-planned event that could help identify talents at a very young age. With the support of parents, a child can grow up to be a professional football player.

With the advancement of sports, children will discover new skills that make them healthy and keep them busy, helping parents fight mobile addiction in young children. Beyond that, sports require a strong mind and body, thus helping keep young children away from drugs, another menace that is plaguing our state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Let us support organisations such as LSDFA and help them build a healthy and skillful generation ready to take on the world.
