In a significant step towards inclusive education and rural empowerment, Smti Oli Perme, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri District has inaugurated the 3rd Edition of the Basic English Course for the Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris of DiiboVillage being organized by the Diibo Gaon Bura Buri Association at Govt. Middle School, TPD, Ziro on July 20.

Shri Yachang Tacho, Convenor, Diibo Gaon Bura Buri Association gave a brief highlight of the programme, its aims and objectives and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner requesting for Refresher Training for Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris on various relevant Regulations and Acts, Honorarium for volunteer teachers, Equipment for smart class etc.

Taking a cue from the initiative, Dr. Millo Kunya, DMO has announced to adopt the Gaon Bura and Gaon Buris of Kalung and Reru Villages of Ziro and provide them similar education for their empowerment. She further informed the importance of CMAAY and PMJAY and requested all the Gaon Buras, Gaon Buris and villagers to register themselves and avail the quality and cashless healthcare services.

Dr. Subu Tasso Kampu, President of the ApataniWomen Association Ziro (AWAZ) has appreciated the initiative and called for the support of Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris in the fight against drugs abuse in the Ziro valley.
Shri Keni Bagra, Superintendent of Police who attended the program as the Guest of Honour saidthat the Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris are the eyes and ears of the Administration, therefore they need to know their power and functions very well. He further said, “Now, as you can read your name and do the signature, unscrupulous people will think twice to cheat you and misuse your signatures.” He also offered to provide awareness on cyber-crimes to Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris.

The Chief Guest of the program, Smti Oli Perme, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri District has praised the Diibo Gaon Bura Buri Association for such an exemplary initiative. She has assured to look into the memorandum submitted to her and do the possible needful at the earliest.

Smti Mudo Dumi, Chairperson of Mudo Tamo Memorial College, Hapoli and Shri Tage Tado, Retired Director of Transport, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh also spoke on the occasion.
Among others, CO Mide Bage, Deputy Director ICDS Dani Yami, FAO Hage Yana Jopir, Superintendent Tax & Excise Takhe Rinyo Nani, RO Tamo Rilla, PTO FTC Ziro In-Charge Leegang Ania, DIPRO In-Charge Tai Arun, members of APWWS, PRI Members and other officers attended the program.
The initiative has received widespread appreciations from village communities and is expected to significantly enhance the governance capabilities at the grassroot level.
