Adi of Siang belt and the Apatani of Subansiri belt gears up for 1st Adi-Apatani Summit

NOTIFICATION

WHEREAS, the two prominent communities – the Adi of Siang belt and the Apatani of Subansiri belt having similar ancestral lineage and descendants of Abotani are among the prominent and progressive communities of state of Arunachal Pradesh. Both communities led by Tani Supuñ Dukuñ (TSD) and Adi Ba:né Kébang (ABK) have mutually agreed for entering into mutual understanding, generate trust and establish respect for each other’s communal feeling for cohesive existence and cordial relationship.

WHEREAS, the rounds of meeting between Central Executive Body members of both TSD and ABK was held to discuss and draw mutual and consensus decision. In order to draw a genuine road-map for peaceful co-existence of both the communities and to reaffirm and reiterate the long held socio-cultural values for peace and progress inherent of both the communities it was unanimously resolved to constitute respective committees for the proposed Adi-Apatani Summit and Joint Declaration. The reports of the drafting committees were placed before the respective Executive Body meeting;

WHEREAS, The TSD Extended Executive Body, the highest decision-making body of Tanii vetted the proposal for Adi-Apatani Summit and approved on 13 July 2024 at Ziro. The meeting of the Central Executive Body, TSD vetted the draft Joint Declaration submitted by the Working Group Committee TSD under Chairmanship of Sri Subu Tabin, and approved on 17.09.2024 and same was also approved by joint meeting of Governing Council and CEB, TSD on 25.11.2024 at Ziro. The Central Executive Body of ABK vetted the draft proposal of Joint Declaration of Adi-Apatani and approved on 16.11. 2024 at Pasighat. The Joint Central Executive meeting of ABK and TSD vetted the draft Joint Declaration and approved on 15.12.2024 at Itanagar.

THEREFORE, the historic Adi-Apatani Summit shall be held with signing Joint Declaration on 19 January 2025 at Pasighat. All members of Apatani community are requested to actively participate and support the Summit on the aforesaid date.
