928 Grams of Suspected Cannabis Seized in Ziro; One Arrested

Ziro, Lower Subansiri – On August 14, 2025, at around 12:52 pm, police in Ziro seized a total of 928 grams of suspected contraband cannabis from Quarry Line Colony. The recovery included 44 small plastic pouches containing suspected cannabis weighing 380 grams and one black polythene bag containing 548 grams (net weight) of the same substance. The accused, identified as Ngurang Gungte (23), son of late Ngurang Linto and a resident of Yumlam Village, PO/PS Koloriang, District Kurung Kumey, was apprehended at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the source of the contraband and uncover the intended distribution network.
