The 22nd Yachuli Nyokum Festival 2026 commenced on a vibrant note with the grand inauguration of its much-anticipated Cultural Night at Yachuli General Ground in Keyi Panyor district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Celebrated under the theme “Kuzzo Ajin Nyokum Solajoo,” the festival stands as a powerful expression of indigenous faith, cultural identity, and communal harmony. Nyokum, one of the most significant agrarian festivals of the Nyishi community, is observed with deep spiritual devotion and enthusiastic participation across the state.

The Cultural Night programme was formally inaugurated by Shri James Techi Tara, Secretary General of the Arunachal Christian Forum, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Er. Tabi Toko, Assistant Engineer (PWD), attended the event as the Guest of Honour.The festival is being organized under the leadership of Organising Chairman Shri Toko Puna and Cultural Secretary Shri Joram Tayir.
The organising team also includes Assistant Cultural Secretary Shri Taj Tatam, Public Relations Secretary Smti. Aniak Maying Joram, and Organising Secretary Er. Rallo Bath.

Nyokum symbolizes prayers for prosperity, peace, and a bountiful harvest, while reinforcing social bonds within the community. The Cultural Night featured an array of traditional dances, folk songs, and vibrant performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The festival has drawn participants and visitors from across the district and beyond, turning Yachuli into a hub of celebration, tradition, and unity.
The organising committee extended warm greetings to the public and invited all to partake in the ongoing festivities, celebrating cultural pride and collective harmony.
