New Delhi, April 9: The United Christian Forum (UCF) has appointed Arunachal Pradesh’s senior Christian leader Toko Teki as its spokesperson for Northeast India.
Teki, who previously served as president and general secretary of the Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF), is widely recognized for his contributions in student leadership, social service, sports development, and Christian leadership.
Over the years, he held several important positions, including spokesperson of the All Nyishi Students’ Union and founder of the All Yachuli Students’ Union in 1990. He also served as vice president of the Arunachal Olympic Association and has been regarded as a prominent sports promoter in the state.
In recognition of his valuable contributions, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh had conferred upon him the State Gold Medal.
Currently serving as an advisor to ACF, Teki is also known as one of the longest-serving Christian forum leaders in Arunachal Pradesh, having led the organization from 2005 to 2022.
Welcoming the appointment, UCF national president Dr Michael Williams said that Teki’s dedication and passion for community service would strengthen the organisation’s mission to address social inequality and religious persecution.
Accepting the responsibility, Teki said he took up the role not for personal benefit, but as an opportunity to grow spiritually and continue serving the public.
The UCF had launched a toll-free helpline number 1-800-208-4545 on January 19, 2026, aimed at protecting fundamental freedoms and promoting the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution of India.
The helpline is meant to assist people in distress, particularly those unaware of legal procedures, by guiding them to approach authorities and seek legal remedies.
Meanwhile, several Christian organisations and leaders from Arunachal Pradesh congratulated Teki on his new role.
The Arunachal Baptist Church Council said the appointment reflected his steadfast leadership and expressed confidence that he would represent the voice of the Northeast with courage and wisdom.
Bishop of Itanagar Benny Varghese also praised Teki’s long-standing commitment and faithful service, stating that his experience and faith would greatly support the mission of the UCF.
ACF president Tarh Miri also extended congratulations on behalf of the organisation.
