In a significant development, the Ziro police apprehended a 38-year-old man, Shri Buru Ribya, in possession of eight vials of suspected heroin weighing approximately 11 grams. The arrest took place on the premises of Dani Kunia Government Higher Secondary School, following a tip-off received by the police from a reliable source around 10:30 AM.
This marks the second time Buru Ribya has been caught in connection with narcotics. A resident of Mudang Tage village, he was immediately taken into custody at the scene. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Rani Perme, Magistrate, in coordination with Officer-in-Charge Hapoli Police Station Millo Lalyang. Assisting officers included Sub-Inspector J. Yomcha, Assistant Sub-Inspector C. Talo, Head Constables A. Agi and Tage Tale, and Constable D. Gyadi.
The swift response and coordinated effort by the Hapoli police team highlight their continued vigilance in combating drug-related activities in the region. Further investigation is underway.
