Ziro, May 10, 2025 — In a vibrant display of environmental awareness and community engagement, the Hari Youth Organization (HYO) observed Himalayan Bird Count Day in collaboration with the Ziro Birding Club and Arunachal Birding Club. The event, held in the scenic Yachi Yat area of Hari Village, brought together a diverse group of bird enthusiasts and nature lovers, united by a common goal — the preservation of wildlife and promotion of sustainable practices. Throughout the day, participants successfully recorded around 35 bird species, reflecting the rich avian diversity that thrives in the region, including both local and migratory species.

The initiative marked another step in HYO’s ongoing efforts to discourage hunting and poaching, while fostering greater community participation in conservation activities. Shri Hage Duyu, Secretary of the Hari Youth Organization and a passionate advocate for nature, emphasized that the event not only highlighted the importance of bird conservation but also created a shared space for appreciation of nature’s beauty. He noted that involving local communities in such efforts is key to long-term environmental protection.

HYO extended heartfelt thanks to the Arunachal Birding Club and Ziro Birding Club for their support and collaboration, acknowledging their role in making the event a meaningful success. As part of its broader mission, HYO invites all bird lovers and environmental enthusiasts to join future initiatives aimed at nurturing the biodiversity of the region. Through such community-driven efforts, the organization continues to build a culture of environmental responsibility and deep respect for the natural world.
