On May 12, 2025, around 2:10 PM, Ziro police received reliable input from an informer about a woman allegedly involved in drug peddling in the Ziro/Hapoli area. The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Khyoda Otty.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a police team led by Inspector M. Lalyang, SI J. Yomcha, ASI C. Talo, and L/HC (SG) Nido Yarin, under the supervision of the SP Ziro, raided a rented apartment near Treasury Down where the accused was staying.
During the search, the team recovered two plastic vials containing a total of 2.7 grams of suspected heroin, along with 14 empty plastic vials and two 1ML insulin syringes. The seized items were documented and taken into custody following all legal procedures in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
