In a heart-wrenching tragedy that has shaken the nation, Corporal Tage Hailyang of the Indian Air Force was among those killed in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. A native of Tajang village in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, Corporal Hailyang was on a holiday with his wife when gunmen indiscriminately opened fire on tourists, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 individuals .
Corporal Hailyang, 30, had been serving at the Indian Air Force base in Srinagar. His life was tragically cut short during what was meant to be a peaceful vacation. His wife survived the horrific incident, and our thoughts are with her and their family during this unimaginable time of grief.
The attack, which occurred at Baisaran meadow near the resort town of Pahalgam, is one of the deadliest in the region in recent years. Gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists, killing at least 26 people and injuring many others .
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Corporal Tage Hailyang of the Indian Air Force, a brave son of Arunachal Pradesh who hailed from Tajang village in Lower Subansiri. While visiting Pahalgam with his wife, his life was cruelly taken in a senseless act of terror. He served the nation with courage and honour, and his untimely death is a great loss not only to his family but to the entire country.”
