Ziro, March 4, 2025: The Gastric (Stomach) Cancer Epidemiology and Risk Study was officially launched today at GT General Hospital, Ziro to investigate the causes and prevalence of gastric cancer in Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative, led by Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, in collaboration with the State Cancer Society of Arunachal Pradesh, aims to identify risk factors and improve cancer prevention strategies.
Health Minister Shri Biyuram Wahge, the Chief Guest, emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare and early cancer detection. Shri Hage Appa, MLA of Ziro-Hapoli, urged community participation in the study.
The research will involve medical screenings, lifestyle analysis, and awareness programs to help formulate better healthcare policies.
Authorities have called on the public to participate actively, ensuring a healthier future for Arunachal Pradesh.
