At 73 years old, Padma Shri Dr. KIRAN SETH, the visionary founder of SPIC MACAY and former Professor Emeritus at IIT-Delhi, has achieved an extraordinary feat by completing a solo cycling expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in February 2023.

Setting off on this challenging adventure on August 15, 2022, from Srinagar, Dr. Seth pedaled through the diverse terrains of India, reaching Kanyakumari on February 14, 2023. Undeterred by the vast distance covered, he is now extending his cycling journey towards the North East.

Currently located in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Seth spent February 12th and 13th engaging with students, faculty, and educationists, sharing his valuable message. His cycling mission not only emphasizes the physical and mental health benefits of cycling but also aligns with Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of simple living and high thinking.

Dr. Seth’s expedition is more than a personal challenge; it is a platform to promote the preservation of Indian heritage and encourage a minimalist lifestyle. Riding a basic bike without gears or fancy accessories, and carrying only essential items, he exemplifies his commitment to environmental sustainability.

Departing from Pasighat on February 14th for Dibrugarh, Dr. KIRAN SETH continues to inspire individuals across the nation, advocating for health, simplicity, cultural conservation, and volunteerism.
