ITANAGAR, FEB 18 : The Kurung Kumey district police on Sunday has sought public support and cooperation in identifying a dead body found in Kurung river bank in Laying under Sangram Police station.
Speaking to this daily on Sunday late evening, Kurung Kumey SP Bomken Bassar said that information was received in morning at around 8 AM and accordingly the police team has reached the spot. It was found that that an unidentified dead body was floating in Kurung river at Layign area under Sangram police station. The body was in decomposed stage. The body was retrieved form the scene. He said.
A case has been registered at Sangram Police station Vide SGM/PS/UD Case No-01/2024 u/s-174 CrPc and investigation has been launched. He said.
The inquest was conducted in presence of magistrate and post mortem (PME) has also been done by the doctors. He said.
Messages and information has been passed on to all the nearby police station in district and nearby district and all with a copy of photograph fro identification. He added.
In view of above the citizens has been requested to help the Sangram police in identification of the body so that the family members and others can be contacted. The Kurung Kumey SP Bassar further said.
