Here’s how to use the new feature

Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram, consistently enhances its app to provide an improved user experience. Now, Instagram has unveiled an upgrade to its Notes feature allowing users to share short videos to their Notes.

The Notes feature was introduced last year to assist users in sharing brief text notes at the top of their DM section. Since its introduction, the platform has implemented several updates to the Notes feature, allowing users to share short music and voice notes. The latest addition to the Notes feature now enables users to share short video notes of 2-seconds at the top of their DM section. This expansion of Instagram Notes provides users with the ability to infuse a dynamic element into their updates.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you use this new Video Status feature:

Open the Instagram app and navigate to your inbox.

2.

Select your profile picture in Notes

Tap on your photo located in the Notes tray, and then click the camera icon to initiate the recording process.

3.

Record a 2-second video

Use the front-facing camera to capture a brief 2-second video. Express yourself creatively within this short time frame.

4.

Add context with text

Before posting, enhance your video note by adding a text caption for context.

5.

Post your Video Note

Confirm and post your video note. It will be visible to your close friends and mutual followers for 24 hours.

Things to keep in mind

  • Video Note characteristics: Unlike Instagram Stories, these video notes are limited to 2 seconds and can only be recorded using the app's front camera.
  • Caption capability: You can include a text caption along with your video note to provide additional context.
  • Replying to Video Notes: Users can respond to video notes with various media types, including photos, videos, audio messages, stickers, and GIFs.

Conclusion
By following these simple steps, you can easily share engaging and dynamic video notes on Instagram, adding a creative touch to your interactions.
